A new day a new haiku

Purple birch buds shine Light on a distant mountain Just a bit further
Birch in full flourish A gloamy golden glowing Going nowhere fast
Keep chipping away At that great looming mountain Time turns stone to dust
Life, light and laughter Shines out of your little soul And now you are four
Sap rising sweetly Purple buds growing quickly Bark shining brightly
Shine in the twilight Through the mists of doubt and fear Make me who I am
Buried by branches Blinded by brighter birch bones Between broken briar
Weeds will ever grow Yet gravity always wins Futile devices
