A new day a new haiku
Rare ripples reflect
A secret silent shoreline
All we see is waves
Her haze hangs heavy
As our gaze is drawn back south
By herony squarks
Lost in heady scent
Follow the lines we were sent
In dollar and cent
And suddenly leaves
Radiate verdant’s essence
Redefining green
Super life giver
Lion breaker, love bringer
Hyper light singer
Even dirt can shine
The roughest can still climb
My journey is mine
Ivy climbs these stairs
A solo mission without
A destination
The robin’s pure song
Never sharp or flat or wrong
Where do I belong?
Strong hands have folded
Brilliant minds have faded
Yet the work remains
I emerge again
From my frozen chrysalis
Rising to new heights
But when I return
All the garden will be filled
With leaf dappled shade
Where do you shelter
From the blustering March winds?
Hunger outweighs fear
I wish I could trace
All the lines upon your face
And the tales they chase
Patiently he waits
As I spade open the ground
For a wormy feast
Magenta skyline
Ever reaching Poplar spines
Anywhere but mines
Mysteries lie behind
The thorn twisted boundary line
As distant bells chime
Sun pendulum swing
Bring us back the light again
I forgot your face
Can I see myself
As other people see me
And would I want to?
Scrape the scales away
Open up my morning eyes
Heavy with fresh dew
Launch from Hawthorne branch
Escaping from your prying
Colours thick with dew
Look beyond your eyes
Perspective opens the mind
Lean to the outside
Willow leaves and bends
Breathe in as the scent ascends
Spring is here again
Climb another beech
Look out at the city reach
Hear words without speech
Soon the leaves will bud
Covering your fragile limbs
Feet slide in the mud
