A new day a new haiku
Just cross the water
A whole other universe
Alas I cannot
Lurking in shadow
Skulking from field to hedgerow
In a black furrow
World turned upside down
After the hurricane ends
We’ll be in blue skies
Beneath leafy crowns
Thick boughs tangle up the clouds
All lives intertwine
The years slip away
While we’re wasting weeks with wrath
Treasure every day
Every day we live
With someone else’s choices
Help out future you
So what are regrets?
Holding on to things that hurt?
Lessons still unlearnt?
Damp drab dreary days
Scuffling through rusty leaves
Searching for wild life
Trees can’t move their roots
They grow where they were planted
But they can still grow
Lying in her lair
Waiting for the wolves to were
Secret silent snare
Wherever we look
We can never see ourselves
Just a reflection
Across golden fields
Misty mornings fall lightly
And some are broken
Only the morning
Transforms the desolate bleak
Into such a glow
A foggy cold fret
Bitten by this fierce snell wind
My fair jeelit feet
We must carry on
Through mud, ice and grime, into
The rest of our lives
Another dreich day
Grey, damp, dark and plowetery
Smirr soaked to the skin
Only bright stars fade
Only the lost can be found
Only triers fail
The weeks just roll on
Sand slipping through my fingers
A glass half empty
Dank November gloom
Oppressively beautiful
Tread murky water
Squeezing a little
Pointless creativity
Into every day
Wind strips branches bare
Waiting for my time to come
Only five leaves left
Down in dark damp dirt
The mycorrhizae network
A secret magic
With a simple slip
I break the surface tension
Shadows gloom beneath
I followed fox tracks
Through the bramble and nettle
My legs still tingle
