Come and take my hand
Through lies we will understand
That we’re growing wild
A new day a new haiku
Come and take my hand
Through lies we will understand
That we’re growing wild
The same silver moon
Watches over all of us
Wherever we are
That cloudless warm night
Will stay with me forever
We cannot go back
Ice crystal gardens
Frost bitten under clear skies
Are all that grows here
Orange winter sun
Casting the longest shadows
On the shortest day
Sleepy little days
Fireside blankets and tea
Hibernation time
A broken bottle
Our lives are dripping away
A day at a time
Tangled up wires
Winding and chocking themselves
In my confused brain
When I’m looking back
And remembering the past
I think I will die
Now I’m suspended
In the middle of a lake
Walking on thin ice
Words are a blunt tool
So I’m trying not to read
In between the lines
I knew words could hurt
I have learnt that saying none
Can hurt just the same
Putrid mist drifting
Across derelict mudflats
Enclosing house boats
The underbelly
Seedy sleazy squalid stench
I plan my escape
In my tired mind
Peeping out from the darkness
Into your bright eyes
‘Cross the Atlantic
Carrying harsh winter storms
Filing up my eyes
If this world should end
And leave me all on my own
I would feel the same
Tired and restless
As I wonder what is left
Is it afterwards?
Floating through darkness
And every wasted momement
Is filled with regret
Through dirty windows
Low winter sun blinds my eyes
The heart ever dark
Fragmented palace
Fireflies illuminate
An enchanted dream
Sand through my fingers
Our lives slip slowly away
Like rain to the sea
A tree without leaves
A sky without sun or birds
And me without you
As autumn leaves rot
And summer memories fail
So this too will fade
