Dreary rainy day
Grey and dull and beautiful
So soon forgotten
A new day a new haiku
Dreary rainy day
Grey and dull and beautiful
So soon forgotten
The long shadows fall
Dragging us into winter
I swim between dreams
A half life decay
Another day melts away
Tides wash me again
Faded autumn shades
Pulling me out of myself
I stumble and fall
Layers on layers
Covering all our mistakes
A fresh coat of pain
Two peas in a pod
Train tracks converge and entwine
Meet your reflection
Lost in the thick fog
Between awake and asleep
Words no longer come
Shrouded in ivy
Escape to another world
Secret fairy doors
Purple twilight glow
When words fail, what is left but
The very last drop
In a dreamy haze
Between waking and sleeping
Glazed and vacant stare
A dim orange star
Behind Sahara dust clouds
A storm is coming
Thundering footsteps
Tearing up and down the stairs
Another play date
Bike wheels turn slowly
Night becomes day becomes night
History repeats
Pink skies and pink skin
Dark eyes and darkness within
Everything changes
Be brave, be patient
Be strong, be steady, breathe deep
Be only yourself
Clouds of dry leaves
Kicked up across the playground
Shedding an old skin
As the axe head falls
Dividing up knotty grains
We open our mind
The sound of acorns
The smell of fresh cuckoo spit
The taste of hedgerows
Glowing evening cool
Soaks away into reed beds
Settle down cobwebs
Little brown acorns
A hollow round iris print
Reflected eye lines
Deep in the thicket
Climbing overgrown windows
Through the looking-glass
A gap in the clouds
Drinking in dusty lightness
An adventure hole
A ball of instincts
Unfurling, unravelling
Who will you become?
Rocky layers strut
In golden lines from the cliff
While the wind crumbles
