Irises open
Spicy saffron stamens spring
Where did you come from?
Irises open
Spicy saffron stamens spring
Where did you come from?
Buried by branches
Blinded by brighter birch bones
Between broken briar
As the first signs spring
They break the cold winter earth
Dreams break hearts in two
Dawn divides darkness
Am I the lies underneath
Or the breaking sky?
Once I was alive
Now we live in photographs
Vicariously
Another day dawns
Lift me with your golden gaze
Help me to forget
One day will be last
All the things I didn’t do
Will become regrets
In a sea of red
My blood has been shed, slowly
I return to dust
When you’re trapped in woods
Can’t see the trees for the leaves
Give up, fall asleep
Which way to follow?
Yet if I knew where I was
I would still be lost
