Dark green conifers
Still standing on these mountains
Before and after
Dark green conifers
Still standing on these mountains
Before and after
Creeping through sand dunes
Bears and wolves prowl silently
Well exacted fear
Abandoned sandals
Wait on the fence for their partner
Hanging like lost souls
Leaping out headlong
And falling head over heels
Into shifting sand
Moonlit castles slide
Knights in shining armour glide
Until the king dies
Under heavy rain
Canvas stretched by summer storms
Painting our lives now
The Atlantic chill
Burns against my summer skin
Spreads into my bones
A horizon scarred
Blood red clouds in rank and file
Reflect in sand pools
And when I return
To those sea battered outcrops
I go back in time
When the sun breaks through
And we bathe in orange light
Will you remember?
